Thoughts on Toho vs Toei in the animation battle?

Toho has other businesses as well but anime IP and monsterverse IP seems to be growing much faster and account for most of their profit.

Animation is about 20% of Toho's revenues, and that is taking into account cinema distribution. They have been pushing hard to get a good allocation in production committees in the lastest set of good productions (JK, Frieren, Kaijuu n. 8, Apothecary...) but still a very different animal than Toei Animation (I am not very interested in the rest of Toei Co.). I think if you want to play those new IPs you are better off going with I.G. Port for example, as it has more leverage to their success, and if you want to play IPs with staying power, Toei Animation or Nippon TV make more sense.

Doesn't mean Toho can't work, just that it is not leveraged to the IP revenue really, and you have to have a pretty positive view of the movie theatre business to like it (or at least neutral, and even then it has less leverage to the idea than other players)
